LEWISTON, Idaho -- Lewiston Police arrested a man they said tried to strangle a woman after she mistakenly referred to him by the name of her ex-boyfriend.

On Tuesday, officers responded to a domestic dispute call.

Authorities said the incident started at a home in the 400 block of 12th Street, where 25-year-old Chad. C. Bradley suffered a couple of stab wounds in his arm.

A witness told police Bradley and a 28-year-old woman were drinking for much of the day and arguing off and on when the woman called Bradley the wrong name.

The argument became physical and Bradley tried to strangle the woman, police said.

Authorities said the fight moved to the kitchen, and the woman was able to grab a knife and stab Bradley in the arm. The witness called police.

Bradley was treated for two stab wounds at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. After interviewing Bradley, police arrested him.

He was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail on a Felony Attempted Strangulation charge.
