Spokane, Wash.--Jury selection began Monday in the trial of a Spokane man accused of shooting and killing someone on New Year’s Eve in 2012.
Louis Hanson, 29, is accused of shooting and killing Aaron Cummings.
Authorities said the shooting was gang related.
The jury selection process is expected to last all week. Opening arguments are expected to start on Monday, October 28. Hanson appeared in court the week of October 13 for a status hearing.
Hanson requested one of his public defenders be removed from the case according to court officials. He said the reason is because the public defender does not visit him enough in prison. A judge denied that request.
