MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) -- The former administrative supervisor for the Latah County sheriff's office will be arraigned on July 16 on a felony charge of misappropriating public funds.
Prosecutors say Rhonda Bunney took more than $56,000 in cash over several years from the jail commissary fund and from fingerprinting money paid to the local driver's license bureau.
Bunney's attorney, James Siebe, says no crime was committed, and it's simply a case of sloppy bookkeeping.
Magistrate Judge William Hamlett said Tuesday that prosecutors presented enough evidence to justify allowing the charge to move forward in district court.
