BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A physical education teacher in a southwestern Idaho school district is charged with felony lewd conduct after police received a report involving sexual abuse of a minor.
Boise police say 42-year-old Grant Alyn Bothen of Eagle turned himself in at the Ada County jail on Wednesday after an arrest warrant was issued.
The Boise police department said it received a report of sexual abuse in May. Detectives say the alleged crime occurred in a Boise house between January and May of 2012.
Bothen had been a gym teacher for fifth and sixth grade students at Hacker Middle School in Mountain Home.
Mountain Home Superintendent Tim McMurtrey told KBOI-TV that Bothen is still employed with the district, but was "not currently in the classroom."
