POST FALLS, Idaho -- Authorities are on the lookout for a skinny, middle-aged white man with three missing front teeth who may have tried to kidnap a Post Falls teenager on Friday.

The 14-year-old girl told police she was walking near 10th Avenue and Spokane Street early Friday evening when a stranger pulled up and asked her if she wanted a ride.

The girl said when she declined to get into the car, the driver got out and grabbed her.  She reportedly struggled with the man, but was able to break free and run to safety. Police said the girl was hit in the face, but was not badly hurt.

Police Captain Greg McLean said he is concerned about the randomness of the attack.

"It is something we don't want in our community. You see [it happen] all the time in the larger cities that kids are abducted and never found again. We don't want that in our city,” McLean said.

Police said the girl gave a very detailed description of her attacker and his vehicle. She said the man is white, in his late 20's, at least 6 ft. tall with a thin build and a deep voice. He was also missing three front teeth.

The man’s green car has dents on the passenger side door and panel. A side mirror was missing, and was replaced with a cosmetic mirror.

McLean said the report is the only one of its kind made to Post Falls Police.
