WINCHESTER, Idaho-- A man allegedly shot a person to death and left the body to burn in a Winchester, Idaho home.
Neighbors called to report shots fired in the 400 block of Camas around 7:45 Thursday night. Others called to report the house was on fire.
Law enforcement and fire crews arrived to learn one person was in the burning home. The victim had been shot before the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials took a man into custody around 8:10 p.m., and he is now being held by the Nez Perce Tribal Police. He is charged with murder, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated arson and weapon offenses.
The victim has not yet been identified.
The FBI, along with local law enforcement, is handling the incident.
