SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.— Detectives found a body on Friday at the Mullan Hill Terrace mobile park.

Authorities arrived at the homicide scene near S. Mullen Hill Road and S. Inland Empire Way as part a welfare check. A neighbor called and asked authorities to check on the woman around 12:23 p.m.

Officials said the woman was found dead on a porch. They are investigating it as a possible homicide. They believe the woman was only dead for about an hour before they got the call.

Major Crimes detectives with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said victim was a woman who had appeared to have physical injuries.

The manager of the community said a woman and her daughter have lived at the home for 10 to 15 years and they have never had an issue. Neighbors said they saw one of the woman who lives there watering her plants. They described her as pleasant.

"She kept to herself, this neighborhood is really quiet," said Betty Deshazo.

The Spokane County Sheriff's Office said they rarely get calls for service out here and they cannot remember being dispatched to any serious violence in the neighborhood in several years.

"If this is a crime, a murder, it just changes things for all of us out here," said Deshazo.

The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office.
