MOSES LAKE, Wash.-- Authorities in Grant County will release more information Tuesday about a two-year-old child weighing less than 10 pounds.

They found the boy at this parents’ house and flew him to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. He currently remains at the hospital, where he was put on life support last week.

The family lives at a home just outside of Moses Lake. Grant County Sheriff’s Detectives spent last Wednesday night searching the house for evidence. More information from the search is expected to be released Tuesday.

Investigators have been tight-lipped about the case, and have yet to release the parents’ names. One of the investigating detectives, a 23-year veteran of law enforcement, called this the worst case of child abuse or neglect he has ever seen. The mother and father have not been charged.

The family’s other children, who lived at the home, are in protective custody and will likely not be released any time soon. Deputies said they are fine and show no signs of physical abuse.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate.
