Someone used counterfeit bills on campus this week.
Inside the Compton Union Building, workers at the U.S. Bank branch noticed a pair of fake twenty dollar bills on Thursday, and immediately called police.
Assistant Police Chief Steve Hansen says it's too early to tell whether this was the act of a bored student or perhaps part of an organized crime ring.
Police are now pursuing leads and aren't ruling anything out.
Police ask businesses to look out for any other fake bills that could still be in circulation.
WSU Police say it has been two years since counterfeit money was passed on campus.
