SPOKANE--Spokane Police Patrol officers arrested a man and woman, after they were stealing things from a vacant home near 1200 N. Jefferson.
SPD Officers responded to a "suspicious persons" call at 8:30 Sunday morning. Officers found Cory M. Gonzales, 24, inside a vacant home at 1200 N. Jefferson. Gonzales had been sleeping in a Subaru parked in front of the home, with his girlfriend, 20 year old Megan D. Pettit according to officers. Gonzales and Pettit had been seen by witnesses going inside the home, removing belongings, and putting them in their car.
Officers discovered the Subaru the two were sleeping in was a stolen vehicle. The registered owner allowed officers to search the vehicle, and officers found many stolen items from the home.
Gonzales and Pettit were booked into Spokane County Jail for Residential Burglary and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
