SPOKANE, Wash. - Police said Thursday they arrested a man suspected in a string of residential burglaries as the suspect walked out of a home with pieces of art work in hand.
Detectives had been investigating Derek A. Larson, 40, for a series of burglaries in Spokane. Investigators said the homes were unoccupied and for sale at the time of the burglaries. Larson had allegedly been stealing large appliances from the homes.
Officers had Larson under surveillance Thursday morning when they said he broke into an unoccupied residence for sale near 2100 E. Southeast Blvd. Larson was arrested leaving the residence carrying several pieces of art work, according to Police.
Investigators executed several search warrants at his residence and storage units the same morning and located multiple appliances linking Larson to several other burglaries.
Larson faces multiple burglary and theft charges.
