POST FALLS, ID - Post Falls Police say they caught a man who broke into two businesses over the weekend.

On Sunday, around 3:43 a.m., the Post Falls Police Department received a Business Alarm at 770 N. Hwy 41 at the Ross Point Hico in Post Falls. When officers arrived on scene, they found both front doors of the business had been shattered with large rocks.

The business was cleared with nobody located on scene. Stolen from the store were numerous scratch Lottery tickets and a wooden jewelry stand containing an unspecified amount of jewelry. K-9 units began a track of the possible suspect, locating the wooden jewelry stand in the grass south of the parking lot with several pieces of jewelry located close by.

As officers investigated this incident, they received another Business Burglary call at 3826 E. Seltice Way at Sling Shots Espresso in Post Falls. A female employee was coming to work at around 4:53 a.m. and noticed both windows of the espresso stand had been shattered and their cash register was missing.

Post Falls Police Department officers responded to that call as well. As officers continued their on-scene investigations, a K-9 officer approached two males in the area of Highway 41/Ross Point. One of the males matched the description in the video footage from Ross Point Hico. On the male matching the description, the officers located cash, numerous coffee cards from Sling Shot Espresso, knives and lots of jewelry.

The jewelry was positively identified by the responsible party at Ross Point Hico with many of the items still having their price tags attached. The stolen items were returned to their rightful owners. The suspect has been identified as 53 year old Mark W. Dauderman and was arrested for Burglary charges and booked into the Kootenai County Jail.
