CHATTAROY, Wash. -- A bar brawl led to an overnight stabbing in Chattaroy.

Police responded to the ConocoPhillips gas station in 4200 block of East Westwood Avenue around 2:15 a.m. for the reported stabbing.

Officers arrived to find the victim lying unconscious on the ground. He was taken to the hospital for critical injuries.
Police say three men, including the victim, started arguing as they walked out of nearby bar Prime Tyme, and the fight spilled over to the gas station. It turned violent, and one man was stabbed.

The other two men involved in the altercation called 911 to tell police the stabbing victim allegedly attacked them first. Both men are in custody for further investigation. The sheriff’s office say this could have been a case of self defense.

A forensics team examined a pickup truck at the scene, but police have not said what part it has in this case.

Detectives continue to investigate.

The ConocoPhillips opened again around 7 a.m.
