SPOKANE, Wash. — Police arrested a woman in a cold case murder Monday, on the same day investigators made another major break in the case.

Authorities said officers arrested Alicia C. Sweet on her warrant for Rendering Criminal Assistance related to the 2012 homicide of David “Brandon” Deponte.  Sweet was arrested Monday night at a home near the intersection of Lincoln and Sinto in North Spokane.

Deponte's body was found in an alley near Bridge and Canyon with several gunshot wounds in December of 2012. Since then, Spokane Police Major Crimes detectives had worked to identify a suspect and confirmed Monday they planned to charge 31-year-old Bud Ray Brown with 1st Degree Murder in the case.
