SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police spent Tuesday afternoon searching for an armed robbery suspect near the Wells Fargo along East 30th.

The suspect entered the bank around 3:00 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money according to officers. Witnesses said the man claimed to have a gun but kept his hand in his pocket.

The armed robbery suspect escaped before police arrived on scene. Officers said he fled south along Regal Street and then west on 32nd. Witnesses described the suspect’s vehicle as a white, Chevy 2 door car.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’6”, 150 lbs., with a beard or other facial hair, wearing a black hoodie, a black scarf over his face and aviator-type sunglasses according to authorities. Witnesses said he was wearing a shirt under the hoodie that was possibly orange.
