COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- A man stole guns and other property from a Coeur d’Alene business owner in an overnight burglary, according to police.
Employees of TKS Painting in the 180 block of West Haycraft discovered the break-in at 7 a.m. Monday.
Police said Jesse Upchurch kicked in the door and took guns, cash, a large backpack and a laptop.
Evidence at the shop led investigators to Upchurch. Police reportedly found a handgun lost in the burglary. Four other guns, the cash and laptop are still missing.
Detectives believe Upchurch also tried to break into Robideaux Motors, but nothing was taken in that incident.
Upchurch faces two counts of burglary charges. He’s in custody at the Kootenai Public Safety Building. Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call 208-789-2320.
