SPOKANE-- Southwest Airlines will no longer run nonstop service from Spokane to Portland.
This route will be cancelled starting in January 2013.
Southwest Airlines said Wednesday that it has to put its planes where they are going to be more profitable, meaning markets with high connecting opportunities. This includes cities like Phoenix, Denver and Las Vegas.
In response to these changes Alaska Airlines is adding two flights between Spokane and Portland increasing their flights to seven daily departures.
