SPOKANE, Wash.—The program Canada Certified is a new effort to draw in all forms of Canadian dollars without any hassle.

It will allow Spokane stores to accept all Canadian preferred forms to pay, including debit cards.  Before, Canadians would often have to go to an ATM or pay with a credit card.

The new program comes just two months after the increase in allowable duty free amounts Canadian can bring across the border.  As of June, they were only allowed to bring back up to $800 worth of products without having to pay tax.  However, that amount could vary depending on how long they were staying in the United States.
