SPOKANE, Wash.—The extreme heat all over the country has had a huge impact on everything from travel plans to prices at the grocery store.
While the hot weather is good for wine production, is much different story for shipping.
Experts said temperatures are just too hot across the country for bottles of wine to be sent. Owners at Latah Creek estimate the hot weather is impacting several orders. They said things have been backed up for at least a month.
If they were to send out orders, the hot temperatures would cause the corks to shoot out of the wine bottles.
But, wine makers said it has been a great season for growing grapes. The hot weather helped grapes ripen to their full potential. They expect the product from these grapes to be the best in several years.
Crews said it is unclear when they will be able to being shipping bottles of wine again.
