UNDATED (AP) — State police in Pennsylvania say a gunman who allegedly killed three people at a municipal meeting in Ross Township had an ongoing dispute with local officials over possible condemnation of his unkempt property. Authorities say 59-year-old Rockne Newell blasted shots through the wall of the municipal building and then barged into the meeting room, killing three people. He was then tackled and shot with his own gun. He's being treated for his injuries.

CHICAGO (AP) — It was boos for New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez as he stepped up to the plate during Monday night's game in Chicago against the White Sox. A-Rod is one of 13 players suspended Monday for their connection to a Florida clinic accused of distributing performance-enhancing drugs.

HIROSHIMA, Japan (AP) — Japan is marking the 68th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Some 50,000 people stood for a minute of silence Tuesday at Hiroshima's peace park near the epicenter of the early morning blast on Aug. 6, 1945 that killed up to 140,000 people. Three days later, the bombing of Nagasaki killed tens of thousands more, prompting Japan to surrender to World War II allies.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Authorities in San Diego County, Calif., have issued an Amber Alert for the children of a woman whose body was found inside a burned house. Investigators found the body of 44-year-old Christina Anderson Sunday night in the home in Lakeside. The body of an unidentified child also was in the home. Authorities believe Anderson's friend and the home's owner, 40-year-old James Di Maggio, killed Anderson and abducted one or both of her children, 16-year-old Hannah and 8-year-old Ethan, who are missing.
