SPOKANE – Police arrested a man after a high-speed chase early Thursday.
Roger Hatcher/KREM 2 Police arrested Brian S. Solorio after a high-speed chase early Thursday morning. Brian S. Solorio, 36, was arrested for felony eluding and DUI after failing to stop for police. Just after midnight an officer attempted to stop Solorio who was driving recklessly near Altamont and Fourth. He accelerated to 60 miles-per-hour and the chase began. Solorio slowed as he entered residential areas of the South Hill but failed to stop. The pursuit continued north at Third and Arthur. Solorio then headed east on Altamont and then went south increasing his speed back to 60 mph. He went through residential areas again before police set spike strips at Third and Arthur. Despite two blown tires he continued driving at approximately 50 mph before entering Interstate 90 at Altamont. Police executed what they call a PIT maneuver and were able to pin Solorio’s car against a cement divider. He was taken into custody without incident.
