SPOKANE -- If you are hoping to rent a car for the next few days you may have some trouble. Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days of the season.
At the Dollar Rent-A-Car in North Spokane, every car is spoken for. The store has been taking reservations for days and booked all 100 cars in its fleet. Employees had to start turning people away.
Owner Rick Manfred attributes the spike in business to Spokane's location.
"People will fly in here and drive to Billings or Missoula. Our geographic area is huge," said Manfred.
KREM 2 checked out the airport and it's steady at best. Employees say that's because they have hundreds of cars available and the airport hasn't been as busy as in years past.
But for smaller stores in town, days like Thanksgiving and Christmas carry them through the slow winter season.
