KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho—A 25-year-old Worley man was sentenced on Monday to serve up to 13 years in prison for robbery. Security footage showed the suspect wore a SpongeBob mask during the hold-up.
Kyle Ernest Campbell was ordered that his first four years of the sentence would be fixed and the remaining nine years would be indeterminate with credit for time served.
Campbell pled guilty on October 3, 2013 to the armed robbery of the Lean Bean Espresso stand at 1207 E. Sherman Avenue. The robbery occurred on January 30, 2013.
Campbell entered the stand armed with a handgun and wearing a Sponge Bob Square Pants mask, according to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Campbell demanded money and fled on foot.
Campbell has a lengthy arrest history primarily on tribal charges. He had only two convictions for misdemeanor Careless Driving and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. Campbell acknowledged he has a substance abuse problem, according to the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
