CHENEY, Wash. -- A woman has been taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries after crashing her vehicle Thursday morning in Cheney.

WSP Troopers say the woman was driving too fast for the icy conditions on Malloy Prairie Road and couldn't stop in time when she got to the intersection with highway 902. They say she went an extra 200 feet past the stop sign and ended up rolling over and going down an embankment.

Emergency crews had to cut her out of the vehicle. We're told she was conscious and alert at the scene but was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Got 4X4 ... hey, it stops on a dime ... even on slick roads ... right??????? Guess no one told her that winter means slow down ... leave earlier ... expect the unexpected ... and 4WD isn't gonna save you.

Let's see, cold weather, may be ice on road...DUH! Hello Spokane drivers this is the northwest and yes, we have cold, snow and ice. If you scrape ice off your windows um yeah, might be ICE ON THE ROADS! I hate the news and all the stupid accidents in the winter. No excuse, that's right NO EXCUSE for any of them! Unless a person is incapacitated or has medical issues there is no excuse for any winter driving accidents. They State needs to beef up to some serious fines for ignorant drivers. Alittle harsh you say, no it isn't. I have been driving here for over 30 years and yes, my friends 0 accidents on my behalf that is. 0. Reason for that, I am not dumb and 'assume' the roads are dry adn clear. WOW! Lets see, this morning, a small car going so fast plows into an SUV and the SUV rolls over. Think the little car was going too fast? He flips an SUV! Idiot!

I have been living here for 2 years now.... around this time of year I look at the temp readings than the speed limit sign. under 32 I slow down because of ice conditions and anywhere near that temp is cautious. But youll see those who would still think they can do 50 on iced roads. I guess theyll learn their physics lessons this season.

I hate this time of year, we get our first freezing or our first snowfall and people seem to forget that its slick out! We all know that this stuff happens this time of year, REMEMBER? I agree with everyone here, SLOW DOWN, take your time, LEAVE EARLY and you will get there on time safe and NOT sorry!!!!!
