SPOKANE -- The Wishing Star Foundation is helping a young Spokane girl achieve her dream.

13-year-old Lauren Atkinson is suffering from cystic fibrosis.  She said she does not have any pain but she has to take a lot of medication.

The eighth grader decided two years ago she wanted to be a fashion designer.  Wishing Star teamed up with Lauren and a local handmade clothing specialist to bring the dress she designed to life.  But before she gets to model the final product, a local salon is getting her glammed up for the big night.  She said she is enjoying the day of pampering and can't wait to try on her dress that will happen this Friday night.

Wishing Star grants wishes for kids from Washington and Idaho.  It focuses on fulfilling dreams and building relationships with children and their families.  So far it has helped more than 1,200 kids.
