CHEWELAH, Wash.-- Hundreds are expected to converge at a local resort this weekend for one of the area’s biggest ski events.
The annual Winterfest at 49 Degree North in Chewelah runs through Sunday afternoon.
Attendees can take advantage of free classes, nighttime demonstrations, and winter gear demos. While the event focuses on cross-country skiing and snow shoe activities, employees say there is something for everyone.
“It’s about getting people up to the area, introducing them to a new sport, no charge. It’s an exciting time to be here,” Ryan Griffith, Outdoor Program Supervisor, said.
