SPOKANE, Wash. -- The wet weather is helping county and state fire crews fighting fires all across the state Friday.
Spokane has had more rain in the past 24 hours than for the whole month of July. Fire crews said Friday’s wet weather is little help when it comes to a very dry fire season.
The rain may have brought some relief, but that does not mean the concern for dry brush fires is gone. Any thunderstorms in the future could mean big problems.
Crews said the real help would be if it rained for a week straight.
