SPOKANE-- A vehicle prowling suspect possibly under the influence of PCP growled, yelled and talked to himself while in a Spokane Valley patrol car.
On Monday, around 6:30 a.m., Spokane Valley Sheriff Deputies responded to a vehicle prowling call near the 12200 block of East 1st Ave. The complainant told 911 that a male subject was looking inside his vehicle and attempting to open the front door to his residence.
A Deputy arrived on scene and saw 25-year-old Eric Faux standing under the complainant's carport. When the Deputy contacted Faux and asked him where he lived, Faux shrugged his shoulders and laughed. Matching the description the complainant provided, the Deputy placed Faux in handcuffs prior to speaking with the homeowner.
Faux attempted to pull away from the Deputy while escorting him to his marked patrol vehicle. The Deputy advised Faux he was under arrest for Obstructing and searched his person incident to arrest.
A clear plastic baggie was removed from Faux's pants pocket that contained a small piece of blotter paper commonly used for LSD.
The Deputy field tested the substance and it tested negative for LSD but a presumptive positive for PCP.
Faux was charged with Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer, Vehicle Prowling 2nd Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
While en route to the Spokane County Jail Faux was yelling at passing cars, growling, having a conversation with himself and sweating profusely.
The jail nurse was advised that Faux possibly having ingested PCP when he arrived at the jail.
