SPOKANE -- Coeur d’Alene Police and Fire Department are investigating a suspicious fire that torched a new home that was under construction.

Emergency crews responded to a structure call on the 1600 Block of Nettleton Gulch around 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

Police say witnesses reported seeing two people fleeing from the structure right before the fire started. The building is a connected two-story town home. No one was living in either of units.

A firefighter sustained a minor injury. No one else was hurt.

Coeur d Alene Police Investigations and Coeur d Alene Fire Department continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
