SPOKANE, Wash. -- It's a fundraiser aimed to serve those who serve us. The Tunnels to Towers 5K race is coming to Spokane this weekend.
The run started in honor of a New York fire fighter who ran three miles to get to the Twin Towers on 9/11. All proceeds go to non-profits in the area, including helping out first responders in need.
The opening ceremony is Saturday at 9 a.m. at North Bank Shelter at 507 N Howard. It'll cost you $25 to pre-register and $30 the day of the race.
Spokane Fire hopes to raise $50,000. The money goes toward first responders in need all over the country, including homes for wounded warriors. If you'd like more information, click here.
