SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.--Spokane County Sheriff’s detectives said a stabbing Tuesday night along W. Bernhill Road was staged and they have called off the search for a suspect.
Detectives said the 17-year-old male told detectives that he staged the incident, stabbed himself and was never attacked.

The teenager had originally told officials that he was on Tuesday night during a run. The man claimed that a male suspect grabbed him around the neck and demanded his wallet. Officials said the teen told them that the suspect stabbed him in his right shoulder and ran away.
Officials said the teenager would not be charged with any crimes.
