SPOKANE, Wash.--Authorities checked out a suspicious package in Northeast Spokane along the 3900 block of East Nebraska.
Officers shut down several nearby streets near Myrtle and Nebraska while a robot went into the yard to investigate. Police said that a man who works at the location called 911. He said the suspicious package appeared over the weekend.
At 4:30 p.m. a bomb technician determined it had no explosive potential.
Police said initially the package looked potentially harmful.
Some businesses in the area chose to go home for the remainder of the afternoon.
Officers described the object as a large package wrapped in plastic.
