SPOKANE, Wash.—Investigators believe someone intentionally set a fire at the STCU building on Spokane’s South Hill early Tuesday morning. The building at 57th and Regal is under construction.

Fire officials used an accelerant-sniffing dog to investigate the damaged Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities said flames shot at least 15 feet in the air when they arrived to the fire around 4:30 a.m.

Crews managed to knock out the fire in 30 minutes and began their investigation.  They said the building was vacant and no electricity was running through the structure.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call Fire District 8 at (509)926-6699.

A spokesperson for the bank said the branch is still targeted for a November 11 opening.
