SPOKANE, Wash.—Police officers arrested a suspect hours after Atilano’s Restaurant was burglarized.
Police responded to the burglary near W. 3rd Avenue and S. Post Street on Monday morning.
Officers said they looked at surveillance footage to figure out what happened. They determined the suspect entered the business while it was open and hid in a closet until after the store closed.
Police said the suspect then let a second man into the business and the two stole items.
A Downtown Neighborhood Conditions Officer (NCO) identified the suspect as Tony Clark. The NCO located Clark in Downtown Spokane several hours after the burglary.
Officers said Clark was still wearing the same clothing he was wearing in the video from the burglary when he was arrested.
Clark was booked into jail for 2nd Degree Burglary. Police were continuing their investigation into the incident and working to locate the second suspect on Tuesday.
