SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police said a suspect broke into a home and ended up taking the homeowner’s gun Sunday morning.
Police were called to a home on E. Bridgeport near Nevada around 7 a.m. for a report of a burglary in progress. They said the suspect entered the home with a firearm and accessed the homeowners firearm as well. The homeowner was able to get out of the home safely but the suspect remained inside still armed.
As officers were working to secure the perimeter around the home, the suspect fired a round inside the house. No one was injured.
While police were working to get more information and resources to resolve the situation, the suspect exited the home and was taken into custody.
Authorities said Jeremy Dreher, 43, was arrested for First Degree Burglary and two warrants.
