SPOKANE, Wash. -- Surveillance video of an inmate who died in the Spokane County Jail has been released.

Investigators say Christopher Parker called 911 saying he took meth and needed help. They say he was unruly during the booking process. Parker was then tased and put into a restraint chair. He died soon after the incident.

The surveillance video from the morning of February 24th shows Parker was visibly upset as he was being booked into the jail. Parker was high on meth and described by witnesses as fidgety.

When inmates are booked they normally have a seat before being escorted to their cell upstairs. Authorities say because of his behavior he was taken down the hall.

Next, deputies took a restraint chair to the cell and exactly five minutes later what appears to be a medical bag is brought back.

What happened in the cell he was taken to was not captured by surveillance video.

Medics arrived 15 minutes later and tried for more than a half an hour to save Parker's life.
