SPOKANE, Wash. -- Thousands of bicycle wheels hit the streets for SpokeFest on Sunday.
Organizers call the annual community ride the largest bicycling event in the Inland Northwest catering to all levels of riders.
“It's fun to be in a race where no one wins or loses," said 10-year-old Katherin Milner.
Kids as well as adults had the option of riding short and long courses.
"I like that it's a challenge,” said Malia Schram. “I don't get to ride 21 miles in a day."
SpokeFest organizers said they had more people riding the longer course than in previous years.
Around 2,000 people showed up for the 2013 edition of SpokeFest.
