COLBERT, Wash. -- Spokane has not had measurable rain in 42 days, but the dry spell is a blessing for a Greenbluff grape grower.
For the last two years, Mother Nature has handed Davide Trezzi a bad batch of grapes; this year is a different story. Trezzi depends on dry spells to ripen his fruit. His crop, which he plans to harvest Friday, is thriving.
So far this is Spokane’s 19th longest stretch of days without a wetting rain. The current record is 73 days, set back in 1917.
