Spokane neighbors describe ‘large boom’ before car, garage fire

SPOKANE— Neighbors described hearing a loud explosion shortly before a fire sparked last Sunday in Spokane.

Authorities said witness called 911 around 11:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of West Boone.

Investigators said somehow a car caught on fire before the flames jumped to a detached garage.  The cause of the fire is still unknown.  No injuries were reported.
