SPOKANE -- A North Spokane family woke up to the New Year to find their attached garage was on fire. The fire started around 7:00 a.m. at the home in the 9300 block of North Normandie. Firefighters were able to contain most of the fire damage to the garage and an attic above it. Upon their arrival, smoke was coming out of the roof. They did tear the roof open to fight the flames. We're told the garage is badly damaged and a car inside it is destroyed. The three people inside the home at the time got out and were not hurt. Firefighters say the house is still livable. Investigators are now looking into what caused the fire.
