SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Medics rushed a man to the hospital early Monday after he was struck by a car in Spokane Valley.

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. near Trent Avenue and Lily Road.

Washington State Patrol troopers said Carlos Nando-Hernandez, 29, was driving westbound on Trent in a Ford F150.  Just west of Lily Road, he struck Seth Weathers, 33, as he traveled in his wheelchair on the left hand side of the road.

The truck skid to the right side of the road and came to a stop, according to troopers.  However, then Nando-Hernandez left the scene.  But troopers tracked down his car a short time later at a home on Freya.

The case was under investigation but troopers did cite Nando-Hernandez with vehicler assault.
