SPOKANE, Wash.—Spokane Valley deputies responded to a theft call on Monday near the 14600 block of East Broadway. A witness said they saw a suspect take a package off the porch of a house.

The suspect was later identified as 21-year-old Seth E. Grener and fled in a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Ealyshia E. Foreman, according to police.

The witness recognized the suspects and told deputies where they lived.

Deputies contacted Grener and Foreman at Foreman’s residence. Grener was taken into custody for theft. Foreman initially denied any involvement but eventually admitted to driving Grener from the house and gave deputies permission to search her house.

Foreman showed deputies dozens of wrapped presents under the Christmas tree that had her family members’ names on them. She said she and Grener stole dozens of packages and mail from numerous victims because she was not working and needed presents for her family, according to police.

Investigative Task Force Investigators and U.S. Postal Inspectors responded to the scene. Foreman divided up the packages and showed investigators which packages they stole together and which packages Grener stole by himself.

Several of the gifts still had the original invoice attached to the box for the victims.

Grener and Foreman were booked into jail for theft from the original call. Numerous felony charges are expected as investigators determine the number of victims they have from both cases as they go through the bags of stolen mail and dozens of gift boxes recovered.
