SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane County Detectives asked for the public’s help Thursday in identifying a woman found dead in the Spokane River back in January. Authorities released a new sketch of her Wednesday.

Detectives told KREM 2 News they have not seen a case like this one in several years. No regional missing person’s reports match the woman.
“Not since I've been a detective can I recall something like this, where we just can't identify someone,” said Lyle Johnston from Spokane Major Crimes.
Police said the woman was wearing yoga pants but not a coat or shoes when her body was discovered on January 10. Officials believe she had been in the river about a month.
“Things just don't add up to what we typically see in that situation,” Johnston said. “We're not getting any hits anywhere.”
There have been 23 unidentified bodies or body parts at the Spokane Medical Examiner’s office since 1961, with the most recent case besides the woman from 2007.
