SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Public Schools finished a safety audit that will help the district consider new ways to make its campuses safer.

The district launched the safety audit in response to the shooting massacre at Sandy Hook.

Auditors recommend all campuses perform more fire and crisis drills, make sure visitors check into the office and require all staff wear employee badges at all times.

The district will continue to look into other measures like arming resource officers and metal detectors.
