SPOKANE -- Spokane Police arrested a suspect in a pharmacy robbery within hours Wednesday night.

The robbery happened around 6:20pm at Bates Pharmacy.  Officers said a man in a mask handed the clerk a note demanding a specific type of pain medication.  The suspect left with the stolen medication in a tan Lincoln Towncar.

Witnesses were able to give officers the license plate of the suspect’s vehicle, but police discovered the vehicle was registered out of Seattle.  However, an alert police dispatcher was able to run a record of the vehicle and found that an occupant, who was not the registered owner, had been given a ticket in the vehicle last year.  Officers went to that man’s house, where they found the vehicle parked outside.

Officers surrounded the house and Larry Griffin, 38, surrendered.  Griffin was booked into jail for 2nd Degree Robbery.
