SPOKANE, Wash.--K9 training exercises were held Monday at the Spokane Police Academy.

There were nine different K9 and handler training sessions. The exercises included building searches, gunfire exposure training, vehicle searches and tactical training.

Funds were raised during the seminar for the Retired Police K9 Fund. The fund helps provide financial support for retired Police K9s. Police K9s live with their handlers after retirement from police work and typically have medical bills and other expenses inherited by their handler, according to Spokane police.
