SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane citizens now have a new way to stay in touch with their police department.

The SPD has activated its new tip line in hopes of keeping an open line of communication with local residents. The intent is to get information to police about possible drug activity, gang activity or nuisance houses.

Anyone with information can call 509-242-TIPS (3877).

The department has also established an email address. Tips can be sent to spdtipline@spokanepolice.org.

Police say complaints will make their way to the correct department within 24 hours.
