SPOKANE COUNTY -- The Spokane County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved an annual budget for 2013 Monday.
The approximately $467,800,000 budget is a one-percent reduction from 2012.
The County eliminated several positions that were vacant.
The 2013 budget also includes several new positions, including additional 911 operators, a campus security coordinator and a corrections officer for the Juvenile Court.
The General Fund starting balance of more than $12,435,000 will help maintain the County’s AA rating with Moody’s Investors Service and Standard and Poor’s.
