SPOKANE, Wash. -- Amidst all the noise and festivities at the Spokane County Fairgrounds, a special wreath-laying ceremony was held in remembrance of 9/11.
Those in attendance reflected on what this day symbolizes.
"That morning was about first responders, the firemen and police officers rushing in to save lives,” said Jon Hauger with the Army National Guard.
“So getting to watch the ceremony and see the memorial and see the reaction of people coming to look at it and learn about it, it's been an honor," Hauger added.
In honor of the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, all first responders and military personnel were granted free admission to the fairgrounds.
