SPOKANE, Wash.—A lack of snow on some mountains is not stopping skiers during the holidays. One resort is evening seeing more sales than ever.

Skiers at Mt. Spokane were very positive and said the perfect way to spend Christmas Eve is at the mountain.

Families said a lack of snow does not matter.

"We're having a blast today, there aren't many lines and it's perfect for teaching the girls to ski,” said father Andy Anderson.

The base at Mt. Spokane only has 21 inches. That is the least amount of snow compared to other resorts in the Inland Northwest. Ticket sales tell a different story.

"It's somewhat surprising but people are investing in season passes, packages and the lesson programs at a very high rate regardless of the lack of snow,” said marketing manager Kristin Whitaker.

Managers said the blue skies could actually be helping business because more people can see the resort.

Ski park leaders said they are hopeful more snow will come but said the snow they do have is just fine.
